- To develop a report that will provide guidelines for improving care for individuals with mental disorders being seen in primary care by:
a. increasing the capacity and expertise of primary care to identify and manage these problems
b. improving relationships between primary care and mental health care providers to support family physicians and general practitioners in this role - To review documents from other jurisdictions that have addressed this issue and to learn from and build upon their recommendations and experience.
- To review the current literature on best practices in managing mental disorders in primary care and collaboration between primary care and mental health care providers and determine its applicability for this project.
- To identify specific resources which could be of value to practitioners in any country or community.
- To circulate draft documents broadly for review before the document is presented to the WFBSP.
- To present a final document to the WFBSP and assist in its dissemination

- To promote dissemination of knowledge and research in regard to women’s mental health and reproductive psychiatry issues

- To publish papers within the broader scope of women’s mental health issues (such as peri/menopause, infertility and IVF, etc.)
